Badinage Period Ensemble
The Badinage period ensemble, formed in 1984, is recognised as one of Britain's leading ensembles for period instruments. They feature virtuoso performances for woodwind, violin, cello, and harpsichord, with a repertoire spanning from Marais to Mozart. The ensemble regularly performs at major venues and showcases a variety of concert programs, often including additional string players and vocal soloists.
Consisting of a group of professional musicians with a combined musical heritage of great and fertile variety. They have been performing together in music festivals and concerts across the UK and have won over audiences with their colourful and committed playing, singing, dancing and dress codes.
They researched the songs in collaboration with Prof. Nicholas Hammond at Cambridge University as part of the project recreating the soundscape of Paris.
